Sea Salts of Hawaiʻi gourmet salts are made from pure, 900-year-old deep ocean water, rich in natural minerals and flavor. To produce it, saltwater is drawn from 2,200 feet below the ocean’s surface and pumped through a 1-micron filter, and into the company's enclosed solar-evaporation beds at the oceanfront salt farm in Kona on Hawai‘i Island. It is the only salt in the world made from waters of this depth. Deep ocean water is rich in minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, manganese, zinc, and iodine. The dark waters at these depths have less photosynthesis activity, which allows the abundant nutrients to remain, and makes this salt one of the highest quality finishing salts in the world. This salt is 100% natural and has no anti-clumping ingredients, whitening agents, or other additives.
