Passion Fruit Coconut Yogurt

Due to its thick, creamy consistency, you’ll find that Koko Kai yogurt is very versatile and makes an excellent dairy-free substitute in recipes. Baking, curries (although be aware that high temperatures will kill the probiotics), smoothies, in ice blocks, with breakfast, and mixed with herbs as a dip are all potential ways to enjoy it … get creative in your kitchen and let us know what you make with it.
If you keep it in the fridge at or below 39 degrees, it will last up to 6 weeks. However, once you open it, it's best eaten within 10 days. The product's Best By date is located at the bottom of the jar.

After a trip to New Zealand and Australia in 2019, where excellent dairy free Coconut yogurts are widely available, the founders of Koko Kai Yogurt were inspired! Unfortunately, at the time, their busy lifestyle and jobs did not allow them to formally put a plan together to create such a product on the island.
Flash forward to March 2020, and the onset of Covid-19 related shutdowns. Aline’s successful private Chef business came to a screeching halt and Jon’s web development projects slowed down as well. With time on their hands and no place to go, they decided it was time to put their passion and skills to good use. Aline and Jon have worked hard since then to bring the inspiration back to our islands and produce our very own, made in Hawaii coconut yogurt. After months of testing, some recipe successes and some failures; Koko Kai Organic Coconut yogurt was born.
They are proud to work with farmers from around the islands to bring you the only product of this type made in Hawaii and using the freshest local ingredients whenever possible.
“KOKO” short for Coconut and a shout out to Koko Head in East Honolulu, and “KAI” from being lucky to live by the Ocean (Kai is ocean in Hawaiian).
The two passionate people behind Koko Kai Yogurt are Chef Aline, who has been a private chef in Honolulu since 2008. Aline wanted to create a plant forward, delicious product as she pursued nutrition education. After a decade of serving healthy foods, Aline became certified as a Holistic Nutritionist in March 2020. Jon, an experienced web designer with 15+years of web development and programming experience, and of course Yogurt lover, has put his creative mind behind the visual and packaging as well as being an integral part in recipe development of our Coconut Yogurt flavors and products.
