Yellow Fatalii Habanero Pepper

Out of stock

Tasty and ranked at 100,000 scoville. These yellow Habanero are a bush-ripened and open-pollinated heirloom variety of peppers. The tips are sweet, flavorful and delicious, while the flavor gets hot about halfway to the stem. A great pepper base for hot sauces. Great to use in pickling and roasting. Frying the pepper and removing its seeds will bring the heat down considerably for less accustomed palates. A true hot pepper lover won't be phased by the heat of this pepper.

Kamahi Produce and Horticulture

Jason Silverstein started Kamahi Produce and Horticulture (KPH) in 1998 out of an abandoned farm in Kahalu‘u. For 30 years or so the farm marinated in the overflow of a nearby stream turning it into a swamp of bedroom furniture, defunct structures, old farm implements, and abandoned vehicles including a ’55 Ford pickup, the title still in its glove box.

With help from his friend, Don Cooke, Jason secured a stream restoration grant and began work on channeling the stream, dismantling buildings, and clearing the land of trash. After four years of soil rehab and permaculture, KPH became a fully functional, organic wetland kalo farm.

From then, the farm grew and continued to build its collection of ethnobotanicals, tropical flowers, and culinary plant selections. After farming in Kahalu‘u for 17 years, Jason relocated KPH to its current 2.7 acre-farm in the rich bottom valley soil of Waiahole where he grows ’ulu, turmeric, dwarf coconuts, heliconia, citrus, cardamom, ornamental ginger flowers, to name a few.
