David Fell and Sandy Kasman have been the owners and operators of Hawaiian Sunshine Nursery, Inc. for many decades. They sold this nursery in 2017 and retired to a new location in Waimānalo, Oʻahu.

They created Fantastic Gardens Hawaiʻi to breed, discover and explore the possibilities for new plants going to the world markets. They market the hybrids that David has created over the last 20 years, a collection of Aroids as well as the plants being bred now and those collected from around the world.

Their 5.5-acre property is divided between the nursery, their garden, and their food production side. They currently grow three types of banana, cacao, grapefruit, lemons, limes, cloves, nutmeg, two varieties of papaya, pineapple, palms for hearts of palm, and assorted vegetables.
