Christopher Cook graduated from Humboldt State University with degrees in Studio Art, Photography, Journalism, and Mass Communication in 2004, aiming to pursue a career in photojournalism. However, as the industry shifted towards digitalization and newspapers consolidated, he transitioned to wedding and landscape photography. His interest in brewing sparked when his wife's brother gifted them a home-brewing kit in 2008. After gaining experience in professional brewing at Lanikai Brewing Co., Chris founded Broken Boundary Brewery in 2016, navigating challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic to establish the business. In 2023, he rebranded the brewery as Kalihi Beer, with a renewed focus on increasing the vitality of the community.
