Macadamia Nut Honey Butter

The Wainscoat ‘ohana are backyard beekeepers in Kailua, Oʻahu. They are firm believers that small acts have ripple effects. A few years ago the Wainscoats (mom, dad, and son) started keeping bees to help honey bees recover from colony collapse disorder and soon found that beekeeping is a labor of love. During the pandemic lockdown, they started making small-batch macadamia nut honey butter and infused honey. Helping Hawaiʻi farmers and small businesses is very important to the Wainscoats so they use only Hawaiʻi grown macadamia nuts and raw Hawaiian honey in their products. They also believe in sustainable living and giving back to the community; a portion of their merchandise sales is donated to a local nonprofit organization, and during the family’s birthday months, all merchandise proceeds are donated to the nonprofit.
