What is KOMBUCHA? The short answer: fermented tea.
The long answer: Kombucha is a living, effervescent beverage that contains probiotics, enzymes, yeasts, and acids. SKY Kombucha starts with organic and fair-trade green and black tea mixed with organic sugar. This “sweet tea” is fermented for weeks, allowing the culture (SCOBY – see more below) to eat most of the sugar and caffeine, resulting in a brew that tastes tangy and slightly sweet known affectionately as “kombucha.” SKY then infuses the kombucha with fruit, herbs, fresh juice, and even vegetables!
Naturally raw and unfiltered, SKY Kombucha is USDA-certified ORGANIC, vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO.
SKY's original brew: Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast (SCOBY), Organic, Fair-Trade Highest Quality Tea, Organic Cane Sugar, Triple Filtered and UV-treated Hawaiian Water
SKY Kombucha is made in Waimānalo, Hawaiʻi by employees who live in the community. The company sources from local farms whenever possible, and takes responsibility for the life cycle of their products, from cradle to grave. The first brand to offer kombucha on tap commercially on O‘ahu, SKY Kombucha is now USDA certified organic.
Founded in 2013, SKY Kombucha was created by a hopeful couple with a vision to make kombucha available to everyone and anyone. Over the past several years, they have grown their brand, their family, and their role in supporting the community. The SKY team believes kombucha should be delicious, fresh, alive, and affordable.
SKY Kombucha also produces Hoku Coffee Hawaiʻi cold brew coffee drinks as well as Oʻahu Kombucha. All are brewed exclusively in Waimanalo, Hawai‘i.
