Hachiya Persimmon

Hashimoto Persimmon Farm was started by great grandfather, Shinhichi Hashimoto. What started out as a desire to plant some persimmon trees because he missed the delicacy of the fruit, began the legacy of the Hashimoto persimmons in Kula. Shinhichi’s son, Isami, increased the plantings and eventually his son, John, along with his wife, Hanako, made the farm into a thriving business. Some of the trees are nearing 100 years old and still producing delicious fruit. 

The farm eventually was passed on to John’s three sons, Clark, Howard, and Noel where they carried on the tradition until 2017. The Hashimoto Persimmon Farm is now split into three individual farms. Hashimoto Persimmon Products, operated by Clark and Jackie Hashimoto, was established in 2018. Their farm is located in Kula, Maui and welcomes visitors daily.
