Achachaʻs white pulp is smooth, juicy, and gelatinous, similar in texture to a mangosteen. It has a refreshing taste with a delicate balance of sweet and sour similar to a mix of mango and lychee. Achacha is rich in vitamin C and potassium while lower in sugar than most tropical fruits.

You can store this at room temperature or refrigerate. The skin is firm, it is best to peel the skin off to eat as a knife can be dangerous. You can press it against a hard surface to break initially.
