Ronda Pitcher, a longtime resident on the North Shore of Oʻahu, started her business over 30 years ago as a small-time sprout grower for the health food stores. She raised her daughter in Pūpūkea with the profits from her fledgling business. Decades later, Rainbow Trader has become a full-time business, something that Ronda never imagined back when she started. With the help of her family and her earnings from her business, she was able to scrape together enough to afford her own place in Waialua in 2000.

Rainbow Trader uses certified organic seeds, certified organic disinfectants, and cleans with natural products although her operation is not currently certified organic. Ronda continues to put in the hard work and daily commitment to producing some of the highest-quality sprouts available. She is a true farmer, constantly learning through experience and continuously improving. The effort shows in her products.
