Channon at Golden Farms Oahu in Kahalu'u is raising heritage chickens - Ameraucana (blue and green eggs) and Rhode Island Red chickens (large brown eggs). Heritage breeds are ones that date back before the mid-20th century; they are slow growing, naturally mated, and well adapted to being raised outdoors. Their chickens are raised in a cage-free environment and are happy hens foraging outdoors.
