With its sweet-tasting flesh, longan can be compared to the flavors of ripe honeydew melon and lychee. 

Longan is from the same tropical family of fruit as the lychee and rambutan.  It has a sweet taste, which can be compared to the flavors of ripe honey dew melon and lychee. The flesh is juicy and and has the texture of a peeled grape.
