Tiffany of Tiffany's Sassy Salsa is no stranger to Mexican food, as her family opened Maui's first Mexican restaurant in 1970. She was three years old when all-vegetarian "La Familia" opened on Vineyard Street in Wailuku and got additional experience when her mother opened Poli's, another vegetarian Mexican restaurant, in Makawao some years later.
Tiffany's Sassy Salsa began when she decided to make her favorite salsa for Christmas gifts. They were a huge hit, and friends and family encouraged her to sell them. Tiffany saved her money and launched Tiffany's Sassy Salsa in Haiku with the help of a friend, who also came up with the brand name.
Tiffany grew up in Kula and works with Kula farmers who were once her classmates, and who provide fresh Maui produce for her salsas. Nearly two decades later, Tiffany and her team are making salsa flavors for enthusiasts across the state.
